Analog Devices ADXRS290BCEZ Dual-Axis Gyroscope is a high-performance pitch and roll (dual-axis in-plane) angular rate sensor (gyroscope) designed for use in stabilization applications. ADXRS290BCEZ provides an output full-scale range of 100/s with a sensitivity of 200 LSB//s. Its resonating disk sensor structure enables angular rate measurement about the axes normal to the sides of the package around an in-plane axis. Angular rate data is formatted as 16-bit twos complement and is accessible through an SPI digital interface. ADI ADXRS290BCEZ exhibits a low noise floor of 0.004/s/Hz and features programmable high-pass and low-pass filters. ADXRS290BCEZ is available in a 4.5mm 5.8mm 1.2mm, 18-terminal cavity laminate package. There are two options for evaluating ADXRS290. One is a simple breakout board (EVAL-ADXRS290Z) and the other is a GUI based real-time evaluation system (EVAL-ADXRS290Z-M). EVAL-ADXRS290Z allows for quick evaluation of ADXRS290BCEZ and has two sets of 0.1 inch spaced vias, for population of 5-pin headers, for access to all power and signal lines. The vias or headers allow the evaluation board to be attached to a prototyping board (breadboard). Four holes are also provided for mechanical attachment of EVAL-ADXRS290Z to customer applications. An external host processor is required for communication to the part.
