Vishay VCNL4100 Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor has an integrated high sensitivity long distance proximity sensor (PS), ambient light sensor (ALS), and 940nm IRED. The VCNL4100 is housed in a 8x3x1.8mm surface mount package and incorporates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog to digital converting circuits using the CMOS process. The sensor has 16-bit high resolution ALS that offers excellent sensing capabilities with sufficient selections to fulfill most applications. The VCNL4100 offers individual programmable high and low threshold interrupt features. This allows for the best utilization of resources and power saving on the microcontroller.
