The RT9742CGJ5 is a cost effective, low voltage, single N-MOSFET high side power switch IC with flag output for USB application in 5 pin TSOT-23 package. It provides low switch on-resistance and low supply current. The RT9742 integrates an overcurrent protection circuit, short fold back circuit, thermal shutdown circuit and an undervoltage lockout circuit for overall protection. A flag output is available to indicate fault conditions to local USB controller. The chip also integrates an embedded delay function to prevent miss operation from happening due to inrush current. The device is an ideal solution for self powered and bus powered USB applications. It is equipped with a charge pump circuitry to drive the internal N-MOSFET switch. The RT9742 continuously monitors the output current for overcurrent protection to protect system power, power switch and load from damage during output short circuit. It has 140°C thermal shutdown protection and 20°C thermal shutdown hysteresis.
