The MAX17597ATE+ is a peak current mode controller for flyback and boost regulator in 16 pin TQFN package. It offers input thresholds suitable for low voltage DC to DC applications (4.5V to 36V) and also implements boost converter. The device contains built-in gate driver for external N channel MOSFETs. The MAX17597 includes an internal error amplifier with 1% accurate reference which eliminates need for an external reference. The switching frequency is programmable from 100KHz to 1MHz with an accuracy of 8% that allows optimization of magnetic and filter components resulting in compact and cost effective power conversion. For EMI sensitive applications, the device incorporates programmable frequency dithering scheme which enables low EMI spread spectrum operation. A programmable slope compensation scheme is provided to ensure stability of peak current mode control scheme. It is used in wide range DC input flyback/boost battery chargers & battery powered applications.
