Analog Devices ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 Step-Down Regulators are high efficiency, ultra-low quiescent current step-down regulators with a battery voltage monitor. The ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 regulators consume only 240nA quiescent current to regulate the output at no load. Operating from an input voltage of 2.15V to 6.50V, the ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 regulators can use multiple alkaline or NiMH cells, Li-Ion cells, or other power sources. Designers can select an output voltage from 0.8V to 5.0V using an external VID resistor and a factory fuse. The ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 regulators can run between hysteresis and PWM modes through the SYNC/MODE pin. When in hysteresis mode, the ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 regulators achieve excellent efficiency at less than 1mW and offer up to 50mA of output current. When in PWM mode, the regulators have a lower output ripple, operate at a 2 MHz switching frequency, and provide up to 500mA of output current. The ability to switch between the modes during operation results in very efficient power management, long battery life, and low system noise.The ADP5303ACBZ-1-R7 regulators combine an ultra-low power comparator with a factory-programmable voltage reference to monitor the input battery voltage. Designers can synchronize the SYNC/MODE pin to an external clock from 1.2MHz to 2.5MHz. Additional capabilities include QOD, separate enabling, and safety features such as thermal shutdown (TSD), overcurrent protection (OCP), and input undervoltage lockout (UVLO).
