The ADP1879ACPZ-0.3-R7 is the power saving mode (PSM) version of thedevice and is capable of pulse skipping to maintain outputregulation while achieving improved system efficiency at lightloads (see the ADP1879ACPZ-0.3-R7 Power Saving Mode (PSM) section formore information).
Available in three frequency options (300 kHz, 600 kHz, and1.0 MHz, plus the PSM option), the ADP1878/ADP1879ACPZ-0.3-R7 are wellsuited for a wide range of applications that require a single-inputpower supply range from 2.95 V to 20 V. Low voltage biasing issupplied via a 5 V internal low dropout regulator (LDO).
In addition, soft start, programmability is included to limitinput in-rush current from the input supply during startup andto provide reverse current protection during precharged outputconditions. The low-side current sense, current gain scheme andintegration of a boost diode, along with the PSM/forced pulsewidthmodulation (PWM) option, reduce the external part countand improve efficiency.
The ADP1878/ADP1879ACPZ-0.3-R7 operate over the −40°C to +125°Cjunction temperature range and are available in a 14-LeadLFCSP_WD package.
