The MAX3373EEBL+T from Maxim Integrated Products is a ±15kV ESD protected, dual low voltage level translator in 9 pin UCSP package. This translator provides level shifting necessary to allow data transfer in a multivoltage system. Externally applied voltages, VCC and VL, set logic levels on either side of the device. A low-voltage logic signal present on VL side of device appears as a high voltage logic signal on VCC side of device and vice-versa. The bidirectional level translator utilizes a transmission gate based design to allow data translation in either direction (VL ↔ VCC) on any single data line. It operates at a guaranteed data rate of 8Mbps over the entire specified operating voltage range. It is used at SPI, MICROWIRE® and I2C level translation, low voltage ASIC level translation, smart card readers, cell-phone cradles portable POS systems, portable communication devices, low-cost serial interfaces, cell phones, GPS and telecommunications equipment.
