ROHM Multiple Input Switch Monitor ICs are designed to detect the opening and closing of mechanical switches in automobiles. These ICs feature Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) protocol for communicating with MCU, serial communication error checking through 8-bit Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC), wetting current timers, and Thermal Shutdown Protection (TSD). The different switch inputs have two separate power supplies, VPUA and VPUB, which can either be from a power supply system or a battery source. The Switch Monitor ICs send interrupt signals to the MCU via the SPI when they sense a change in the status of a switch. These ICs consume low power as the switch status is monitored at regular intervals in intermittent monitoring. The Switch ICs have 8V to 26V operational voltage range, -14V to 40V switch input voltage range, and selectable wetting current. These ICs are ideal for use in body control modules.
