The MAX14920ECB+ is a high accuracy 12 cell measurement analogue front end (AFE) in 64 pin TQFP package. This battery measurement analogue front end device accurately samples cell voltages and provides level shifting for primary/secondary battery packs. The device simultaneously samples all cell voltages by allowing accurate state of charge and source resistance determination. All cell voltages are level shifted to ground reference with unity gain which simplifies external ADC data conversion. The MAX14920ECB+ has low noise, low offset amplifier that buffers differential voltages of up to 5 that allows monitoring of all common lithium-ion (Li+) cell technologies. Passive cell balancing is supported by external FET drivers. Integrated diagnostics in device allow open wire detection and undervoltage/overvoltage alarms. The MAX14920ECB+ is controlled by a daisy chainable SPI interface. It is used in telecom battery backup systems, energy storage packs, e-transportation energy packs.
