Texas Instruments TPS25221DBVT Power Distribution Switches are intended for applications where heavy capacitive loads and short circuits may be encountered. The programmable current-limit threshold may be set between 275mA and 2.7A (typical) using an external resistor. ILIMIT accuracy as tight as ±6% can be achieved at the higher current-limit settings. Power-switch rise and fall times are controlled to minimize current surges during turn on and turn off. When a load attempts to draw current exceeding the programmed ILIMIT the internal FET enters a constant current mode in order to keep ILOAD at or below ILIMIT. The FAULT output will assert low during over-current conditions after the built-in de-glitch time.
