The MC44140 is a monolithic 64 µs delay line, intended for color TV applications. It may be used as a baseband chroma correction circuit (with PAL), or as a chroma delay line (with SECAM).
The device has been designed for use with the MC44000 as part of CHROMA 4, or with the MC44011, but may also be used as a general purpose delay line for other applications.
