The MAX14932BASE+ from Maxim Integrated Products is a 4 channel, 2.75KVRMS digital isolator in 16 pin NSOIC package. This device transfers digital signals between circuits with different power domains at ambient temperatures up to +125°C. It offers all three possible unidirectional channel configurations to accommodate any 4 channel design including SPI, RS232, RS485 and digital I/O applications. Independent 1.71V to 5.5V supplies on each side of the isolator also make the device suitable for use as level translators. This digital isolator has low power consumption at high data rates (2.5mA per channel typical at 1Mbps and 5.25mA per channel typical at 100Mbps (at 1.8V), 2.6mA per channel typical at 1Mbps and 7.1mA per channel typical at 100Mbps (at 3.3V)). Typical applications include fieldbus communications for industrial automation, isolated SPI, RS232, RS485/RS422, general multichannel isolation applications, battery management and medical systems.
